Background
Dr. Wasim Arif is presently working as Associate Professor in the Dept. of ECE, NIT Silchar. He has published more than 70 publications in reputed Journals and Conferences. He has a good number of sponsored projects from MeitY, DST and DHE. He also has published 02 patents and written one book on Spectrum Handoff in Cognitive Radio.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is currently the Secretary, Ex-Com, IEEE ComSoc Kolkata Chapter under the IEEE Kolkata Section.
His research interest is in the area of 5G and beyond 5G communications and sensing, Resource allocations, UAV aided communications and Microwave sensing.
He is presently the Convener of Institution Innovation Council and also the CoPI of iTBI project at NIT Silchar. He is also a founder member of the Board of Directors of a Section -8 Company (NITS Foundation for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship) and actively involved in creating I&E ecosystem and mentoring startups in the institute.
Qualification
- Bachelor of Technology from Burdwan University in 2003 in ECE with securing First Class First.
Master of Technology from Jadavpur University and Ph.D. from NIT Silchar in the areas of wireless communication and networks.
